Harry J. Joswiak
Harry J. Joswiak, 86, of West Sunbury, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away Friday at his residence following an extended illness.
Harry was born Feb. 14, 1931, in Pittsburgh.
He was the son of the late Harry F. Joswiak and the late Helen Oswald Joswiak.
Harry proudly served his country during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Navy. He was a seaman dental technician stationed on the USS FDR.
Harry was employed in the insurance industry and was president and co-owner of Independent Associates of PA Inc. from 1986 to 2011.
He was a member of St. Alphonsus Parish, having attended St. Louis Catholic Church.
Harry is survived by one daughter, Valerie (Philip) Unger of West Sunbury; two sons, Daryl (Jayne) Joswiak and Preston (Cynthia) Joswiak, both of West Sunbury; six grandchildren, Angela Kroha, Aimee (Ben) Hillard, Adam (Autumn) Joswiak, Andrew (Melissa) Joswiak, William (Molly) Joswiak and Michael Unger; and seven great-grandchildren, Alicia Lostetter, Brody Joswiak, Sarah Joswiak, Zoe Joswiak, Lydia Joswiak, Huckleberry Joswiak and Owen Joswiak; two brothers, Robert (Mary) Joswiak of Pittsburgh and Gordon (Audrey) Joswiak of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel M. Najpauer Joswiak, who died Oct. 4, 2011.
