Zoe M. “Nana” Weyman

Zoe M. “Nana” Weyman

Zoe M. “Nana” Weyman, 98, of Cranberry Township departed this earthly life Sunday and moved to her heavenly home following a brief illness.

She was born July 25, 1919, in Connoquenessing to William and Claire Young.

Zoe graduated from Zelienople High School in 1937. She married Harry Weyman on June 4, 1941. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1991. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kathy; her parents, her sister, Jane Hohmann; and her brother, Lawrence Young.

She is survived by her son, Keith, and his longtime companion, Elaine Sable; her daughter, Suzan (Tom) Prestridge; and her grandchildren, Michelle (Buck) Beck, Kristin (Colin) Maloney and Ryan Weyman and his fiancée, Mary Gally. Completing the surviving family are her great-grandchildren, Adam, Kyle and Zoey Beck and Mason and Landon Maloney; two sisters-in-law, Lois Young and Saraellen Weyman; along with nine nephews, six nieces and Bonnie Weyman.

She leaves behind her special friends, Amy Spence, Cynda Roccia and Kathy Marley, who faithfully visited with her.

In November of 2017, Zoe was recognized as the oldest living and longest member of St. Peter's Reformed Church. She was a life-long attendee and a member for 84 years, after officially joining the church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Zoe was an enthusiastic Pittsburgh Pirates fan and fondly recalled spending her 80th birthday at the ballpark by being recognized on the scoreboard. She never missed a televised Pirates game.

She enjoyed making cross-stitch linens and quilt tops and was proud to have made baby quilts for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Zoe loved the challenge of a good puzzle and worked tirelessly until she put in the last piece.

While busy with her large flower and vegetable gardens, taking care of her family and home, she also worked part-time for 27 years at Cranberry Hall restaurant, where she was known to be a jokester.

Once retired, she enjoyed visiting with friends and family and attended events for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Zoe looked forward to going on the annual family vacation to the beach. Though not a swimmer, she did enjoy sitting at the beach and getting some sun. She could always be counted on for a card game in the evening.

The family would like to thank the caregivers from Good Samaritan Hospice for their care and support for Zoe and the family during her illness.
