Phyllis Kendziorski

Phyllis A. Kendziorski, 76, of Slippery Rock passed away at her residence Saturday following an extended illness.

She was born Feb. 2, 1941, in Aberdeen, S.D., to Bernard Schmidt and Florence Kimball Schmidt.

She married Stanley J. Kendziorski Aug. 17, 1964.

Phyllis received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Northern State University, located in Aberdeen.

Before her retirement, she had been employed at Slippery Rock University at the College of Education, where she managed the College Education Accreditations and served as editor of the “History of Education Quarterly.”

She, along with her husband, enjoyed travel, meeting and developing fellowship with new people and understanding new cultures. This shared interest led to their travel to seven continents, 86 countries and all 50 states.

She loved reading, cross-stitching and most of all, spending time with her granddaughter.

In addition to Stanley at home, survivors include her son, Eric, and her granddaughter, Willow, of Grove City.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kara Kendziorski.

KENDZIORSKI — A private mass as well as a private interment for Phyllis A. Kendziorski, who died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, will be observed later in Slippery Rock Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the Kendziorski Family International Student Fund at SRU, SRU Foundation, 104 Maltby Ave., Suite 100, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.A deep expression of gratitude goes out to the hospice nurses and home health care aids of the VNA of WPA Home Hospice for their loving and competent care.
