Robert David Gubanish

Robert David Gubanish, 75, of Ambridge passed away on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018.

He was born Sept. 8, 1942, in Washington, Pa., and was a son of the late John and Ruby Miller Gubanish.

Mr. Gubanish attended Avella High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He worked as a steelworker at J & L Steel of Aliquippa from 1988 until the business closed.

Mr. Gubanish was a member of Zelienople Sportsman's Club.

He enjoyed going to breakfast with his brothers. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.

Mr. Gubanish had lived in Ambridge since 1980.

In January 1980, he married Mary Catherine Smith, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his stepdaughters, Deborah Malone of Rochester and Sandy Keifer of New Castle; five grandchildren, Joseph Robert Malone, Andrew Malone, Angela Malone Costanza, Dennis Matula and Theresa Reed; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard (Betty) Gubanish and Roger (Patricia) Gubanish, both of Washington and Jim Gubanish of Hooverson Heights, W.Va.; his nieces and nephews, Roger Sr., Christina, Alan, Tina and Jimmy; and his fishing buddies, Amber, David and Sean.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Sensky.
