First customer at CY+ seeks quality of life for son
People queue Thursday morning at the entrance of the new CY+ Dispensary on Pillow Street in Butler. The dispensary of medical marijuana products opened at 9 a.m. to become the first of its kind in Pennsylvania.
CY+, the first medical marijuana dispensary in the state to open to clients, did so today.
Diana Briggs of Westmoreland County, whose son suffers more than 400 seizures a day, was CY+’s very first customer.
She bought capsules and oil at the dispensary, which is beside Kelly Automotive Park on Pillow Street.
Security was tight. Only a few clients were admitted at a time to make their purchases.
“We just wanted a quality of life for my son,” Briggs said through tears of happiness.
CY+ has more than 100 appointments scheduled through the weekend.
Only those who get their medical marijuana card can buy the products sold at CY+.
