Marlene Holland

Marlene A. Holland, 84, of Beaver passed away Friday in Slippery Rock where she lived with her daughter.

She was born Nov. 9, 1933, in Pittsburgh. She was raised in Valencia and graduated from Mars High School. She was a daughter of the late Leonard and Luwella Berkebile Hofmann.

She was the organist and choir director of her church, the Christ Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City.

She received her bachelor's degree in music education and voice from Duquesne University and was a member of the American Guild of Organist, the National Association of Pastoral Musicians and the Choristers Guild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Dr. Paul Holland on Sept. 7, 2016; one nephew, William Seidner Jr.; and one niece, Gwendolyn Seidner.

She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Faith Holland and Joy Holland, both of Slippery Rock and Glory and Ronald Dunleavy in Flanders, N.J.; four grandchildren, Gwendolyn Musser, Katherine (Tyler) Marwood, and Paul and Benjamin Dunleavy; one great-grandson, Preston Musser; and one sister, Leonora Seidner in Columbus, Ohio.

HOLLAND — Friends of Marlene A. Holland, who died Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls.Additional visitations will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Christ Presbyterian Church, 325 Spring Ave., Ellwood City.Memorial contributions may be made to the church in her memory.For more information, visit www.hillandkunselman.com.
