Charles A. Welsh

Charles A. Welsh, 93, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Oertel Personal Care at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Born March 28, 1924, in Apollo, he was the son of the late Frank Welsh and Anna Swanger Welsh.

Charles was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II.

He worked as a janitor for the South Butler School District, retiring in 1986.

He was of Protestant faith.

Charles loved gardening.

Surviving are his loving daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Dianne) Gallagher of Butler and Mrs. Norman (Ruth Ann) McPhail of Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren, Matthew (Rhonda) Fullerton of Kansas, Jason (Sarah) Gallagher of Glenshaw, Travis Gallagher of Warrendale and Ashlee Gallagher of Scenery Hill; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Ronan and Emery.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie A. (Slagle) Welsh, who died in 2011; and his stepfather, William McEwen.

WELSH — Friends of Charles A. Welsh, who died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jason McQueen officiating.Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park.Memorial donations may be made to the Cabot United Methodist Church.
