Marjorie Henricks Underwood

Marjorie Henricks Underwood, 80, of Lancaster, Pa., formerly of Upper St. Clair, and Hilton Head, S.C., passed away Dec. 21.

She was the wife of the late H. Clark Underwood, who died in 2013.

A homemaker, Mrs. Underwood had been an administrative secretary for the Federal Home Loan Bank Board in Pittsburgh.

Born Feb. 14, 1937, in Bellefonte, Pa., Mrs. Underwood was raised on a dairy farm in Butler. She was the daughter of the late Walter H. and Ruth Hoover Henricks.

A Lutheran, Marjorie was an active member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lancaster.

She was a 1955 graduate of Butler Area High School and a 1957 graduate of Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh.

Marjorie was an avid golfer and was a member of the Lancaster Country Club. She also enjoyed the arts and was an active member of the guild of the Fulton Theatre in Lancaster.

She is survived by her stepson, Howard C. Underwood III, married to Janet and their children, Mark and Brian; her stepdaughter-in-law, DeAnna (Charlie) Thorne, married to the late Kent F. Underwood, and their children, Christen, Katie and Amy; three step-great-grandchildren, Carson, Alondra and Jasmine; and one sister, Carolyn H. McGuigan of Lancaster.

She also was preceded in death by two siblings, Walter H. Henricks II and Connie L. Henricks.
