Handicap accessibility project set in spring
FAIRVIEW — Work to make the borough building entrance and parking lot handicapped accessible is expected to start in the spring.
Borough council members and residents received an update on the project at Monday’s meeting.
The door to the building will be made accessible to people using wheelchairs and a concrete handicapped parking space will be made in the gravel parking lot, said Jeff Shumaker, council president.
The project, funded by a Community Development Block Grant administered by Butler County, also includes a concrete sidewalk, concrete wheel stops, grading, signage, pavement markings and site restoration.
“We’ll get this moving forward. It should be pretty nice,” Shumaker said.
Council will advertise for bids soon so the work can start on time, he said.
