Ronald T. “GE” Smith
Ronald T. “GE” Smith, 70, of West Sunbury passed away Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Ron was born July 28, 1947, in Butler. He was the son of the late Paul L. Smith and the late Sara Sproull Smith.
He was a 1965 graduate of Moniteau High School and served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam.
Ron retired from General Electric in Grove City after 40 years of service.
He was an avid Pittsburgh sports enthusiast, particularly the Pirates and Steelers and enjoyed playing in the band with his brothers, GE and the Toasters.
Ron is survived by two sons, Matthew Smith and his wife, Jennifer, of Chicago, Ill., and Micah Smith, and his wife, Nedal, of Boston, Mass.; two grandchildren, Aidan Eugene and Ava Marie Smith of Boston, Mass.; one sister, Elizabeth (Harold “Sim”) Grossman of West Sunbury; three brothers, Paul L. “Buck” (Judy) Smith of Bethel, Ohio, Robert S. (Loretta) Smith and Stephen W. (Shelby) Smith, both of West Sunbury; and several nieces and nephews.
SMITH — The family of Ronald T. “GE” Smith, who died Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, will receive friends from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Funeral services will follow at 6:30 p.m. with the Rev.
