Worsley property bought by Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau
The Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau hasn't determined what it will do with the downtown Butler property where Worsley's House of Color stood for generations.
The bureau purchased the property at 157-161 N. Main St. from Worsley Inc. for $199,000, according to a record of the transaction.
“We're not sure yet,” said Jack Cohen, bureau president. “We just thought a presence on Main Street might help with revitalization so we bought the property.”
Worsley's House of Color, which sold paint and wallpaper, operated in the building from 1963 until it closed in 2014.
The building was heavily damaged in a fire in March 2016 and the remains of the structure were demolished in November that year.
