William J. McIntire

William J. McIntire

William J. McIntire, 83, of Creekside died Monday at Rose Haven Personal Care Home in Indiana, Pa.

He was born in 1933 in Gastown to Grant E. and Twila J. Thomas McIntire.

Mr. McIntire was self-employed for most of his life. However, he did work as a welder early in his career and then worked at the Barrel Stave Mill in Whitesburg, Pa.

He successfully progressed from coal auguring to coal stripping and operating a coal tipple to provide coal to many state institutions, power plants and individual homes.

Additionally, he became the owner of many farm properties in Pennsylvania and other states, which provided the ability to begin Christmas tree farming and beef cattle farming.

He also had an interest in horse pulling and horse shows, and had ownership in those areas. Bill avidly pursued the purchase and restoration of Rose Haven Personal Care Home, formerly the Indiana County Home.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Donna V. Rearick McIntire of Creekside; three daughters and two sons, Debra K. Buchleitner of Creekside, Jeffery L.
