Francis Olan Raabe Jr.

Francis Olan Raabe Jr., 76, of Sigel, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, surrounded by his family.

Olan was born on Jan. 29, 1941, in Butler, Pa., to Francis Olan Raabe and Della June (Thompson) Raabe.

He married Margaret McNutt on April 2, 1967, and together they raised two children, Jennifer (Dennis) Walters of Butler, and Michael (Jamie) Raabe of Denver, Colo. He adored his grandchildren, Keegan Walters of Kilmarnock, Va., Mackenzie Walters of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Henry and Lili Raabe of Denver, Colo. In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, his brother, Jesse (Helen) Raabe and numerous nieces and nephews survive him.

Olan was a 1959 graduate of Butler High School and worked in the Shear Dept. of Pullman Standard from 1962-1981. He then was the owner of Raabe's Upholstery shop in Lyndora. He was a meticulous craftsman.

He was a member of the Single Action Shooting Society, East Butler Hunting & Fishing Club, Happy Hunters, Oneida Valley Bowhunters, Sigel Sportsman Club, and the American Trap Shooters Association. Olan loved the outdoors, country music, professional wrestling, old western movies, cowboy action shooting, baseball, his dogs, and most of all, his family.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to his very special nurses at Jefferson Manor for their care and attention during a very difficult time. They are truly angels here on Earth.

RAABE — Friends of Francis Olan Raabe Jr., who died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, are invited to a Celebration of Olan's life on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, from 7-9 p.m., at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E. North St., Butler, PA 16001.
