Mary Lou Davis

Mary Lou Davis, 82, of Butler entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 1, 1935, in Butler Township, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Hickey) Sherman.

Mary Lou was a member of Summit Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a deacon and participated in Bible study classes.

She had served as president of the South Butler Ladies Auxiliary. She had been a secretary for the family business, Harry Davis Water Well Drilling.

She loved to cook.

Mary Lou was known as a grandmother to many. Even through her recent illness, she never lost her sense of humor and great wit. When asked how she was doing, her answer was always “Just Right.” We know now, she truly is “Just Right” living in Heaven with her Lord and Savior.

Surviving are four sons, Robert S. (Susan) Davis, Randy (Kathy) Davis, Ronald (Doris) Davis and Rodger (Darla) Davis, all of Butler; eight grandchildren, Melissa Igoe, Mike Davis, Kayla Davis, Eric Davis, Rachel Davis, Joshua Davis, Aaron Davis and Hollie Davis; two great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Jean Hickey of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Davis, whom she married June 25, 1953, and who died July 5, 1990; a sister, Virginia Namesnik; and two brothers, Wayne Hickey and Norman Sherman.

DAVIS — Friends of Mary Lou Davis, who died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with her pastor, Tom Jones, officiating.Interment will be in the Summit Evangelical Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Butler.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Summit Evangelical Presbyterian Church Food Bank, 181 Caldwell Drive, Butler, PA 16001.Please visit www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
