Phyllis J. Slupe, 87, of Butler passed away in peace Tuesday at her residence while surrounded by her family.

Born July 19, 1930, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Amanda Hickey Hinchberger.

She had retired from Sunnyview Nursing Home, where she worked in the dietary and housekeeping departments. She worked at Sunnyview from 1979 until 1993.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. She was also a member of the South Butler Fireman's Club Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, Robert H. Slupe, whom she married Nov. 20, 1948; a son, Randall R. (Susan) Slupe of Butler; four daughters, Brenda (Dennis) Cornibe of Meridian, Bonnie Jean (Joseph) Michel of Herman, Beth Ann (Donald) Nowakowski of Butler and Sandra Marie Slupe of Zelienople; eight grandchildren, Jill, Dana, Amanda, Ben, Dustin, Dalton, Emily and Austin; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alene Sankey of Butler and Garnet (Wendelin) Kriley of Herman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence Morrison, Charles, Robert and Richard Hinchberger; and four sisters, Elsie Monn, Kathyrn Slupe, Mary Shulik and Jean Kingan.

SLUPE — Friends of Phyllis J. Slupe, who died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from the funeral home. The Rev. Anthony R. Sciarappa will officiate.
