Thomas Paul Callender, 39, of Natrona Heights passed away Saturday at his home unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack.

Thomas was born March 8, 1978, in Harrison Township, a son of Thomas S. and Rebecca L. Lincoln Callender of Winfield Township.

A carpenter for 18 years, Thomas was a union boss for Turner Construction in Pittsburgh.

A member of the Pine Run Presbyterian Church in Markle, Pa., Tom was a graduate of Knoch High School in 1996 and was a coach for Natrona Heights Basketball/Softball Association, as well as the sixth grade Highlands Boys Basketball Traveling League and a member of the carpenters union.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but especially he was a loving husband, father and son.

Besides his parents, Thomas is survived his wife of 14 years, Selena M. Vokes Callender, and their children, Marissa M., Alison R., Abigale G., Thomas P. Jr. and Ethan G. Callender, all at home.

He also is survived by his sister, Katie S. (Joseph) Perry of Saxonburg; his mother-in-law, Toni Vokes of Lower Burrell; his maternal grandparents, Paul (Betty) M. Lincoln of Frazer Township; and his niece and nephew, Chloe and Logan McAnallen.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James C. and Jeannette Prignon Callender.

CALLENDER — Visitation for Thomas Paul Callender, who died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Duster Funeral Home, 347 East 10th Ave., Tarentum.Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bull Creek Presbyterian Church in West Deer Township with his pastor, the Rev. Lanny Mellinger, officiating. Interment will follow in Bull Creek Cemetery.Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.
