Ruby Allene Olenic
Ruby Allene Olenic, 88, of Butler died Wednesday at the Butler VNA Hospice.
Ruby was born Oct. 12, 1930, in Prospect, and was the daughter of Roy Z. and Hazel Allen Stamm.
Ruby had been a toll collector for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission for many years. Before going to work for the Turnpike Commission, she earned numerous top sales achievement awards while working in the real estate business.
She was a member of the Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church in Butler.
Ruby had many fond memories of being raised on her dairy farm in Prospect.
She will be remembered for her love and dedication to family, friends and her little dog, “Cricket.
Mostly, she will be remembered for the love she had for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It was her mission in life to study her Bible and share His word with her family, friends and acquaintances.
Ruby will be missed by all those she touched with her kindness, presence and love.
She was a loving and devoted wife to George Olenic, whom she married June 3, 2006.
She was a loving mother to her three sons, Roy (Beth) Covert, Orrie “Butch” (Nancy) Covert and Gary Olenic; four daughters, Chris (Ronald) Davis, Connie Dick, Lori (Maynard) Harvey and Shellie (Gene) Rodgers; and a loving mother figure for Sharon (Chad) Hemphill.
She was the cherished grandmother of Cheri Elliott, Jerrold (Kelaiya) Davis, Loretta (Kyle) Riddle, Ashley Covert, Ryan Covert, Victoria (Evan) Covert-Soucy, Darin (Jessica) Dick, Marcia (Paul) Kotek, Melony (Paul) Downing, Sean (Tracy) Dick Cole Harvey, Austin Harvey, Lacy (Jimmy) Hill, Orrie Covert III and Candy Covert-Pulis (Dan); and by 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Bob Dick; and by a baby brother and sister.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Dave Myers; and her second husband, Orrie Covert.
OLENIC — A private family funeral service for Ruby Allene Olenic, who died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, will be conducted by the Rev. Ron Schermerhorn and the Rev. Jeff Curtis.Burial will follow at Greenlawn Burial Estates in Butler.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jay Bryan Funeral Home in Prospect.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Dr., Butler, PA 16001.
