Evelyn Marie Burcik
Evelyn Marie Burcik, 96, of Ellwood City passed away on Monday in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.
Born June 1, 1921, in Harmony, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. Kniess and Grace B. Eppinger Kniess.
Evelyn was the oldest member of Zion Lutheran Church in Harmony. She enjoyed camping, bowling, playing Dominoes, baking and cooking. Above all, she loved conversing around the kitchen table with a deck of cards and spending time with her family.
Evelyn will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Karen (Donald) Miller Covert; her daughter-in-law, Patty Miller; her grandchildren, Jeff, Lonnie, Holli, Kristian and Justin; her great-grandchildren, Raquel, Megan, Madison, Jered, Hailey, Zack, Brendan, Caitie and Cassie; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Terry Altman, Melinda Pennington, Amy Nevel, Cheyenne Swick and Sally Pinkle; and her dedicated special friend, Arlene Cameron.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Burcik; her son, Barry Miller; her three sisters, Estella “Mae” Moyer, Florence Barkley and Betty Bintrim; and three brothers, Carl, Howard and John “Ray” Kniess.
BURCIK — Friends of Evelyn Marie Burcik, who died Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral ceremony at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.Evelyn will be laid to rest at Locust Grove Cemetery in Ellwood City.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to the Zion Lutheran Church WELCA, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony, PA 16037.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
