Grace “Gay” Marie Rosenbaum

Grace “Gay” Marie Rosenbaum, 77, of Zelienople passed away Thursday while under the care of UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born Sept. 21, 1941, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Arthur George Schoedel and Ruth Doherty Schoedel.

Gay was a teacher at St. Sebastian School. She was also the CCD director at St. Cecelia Parish and a CCD teacher at St. Ferdinand Parish.

Gay was a strong-willed woman and had a heart of gold. She had an “open door” policy at her home and cooked for anyone who came to visit — they never left hungry. With motherly affection, she loved her family and friends dearly. She will be missed.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Mark Rosenbaum of Zelienople, Charles Rosenbaum of Dallas, Texas, and Ramon Ramos of Irving, Texas; her daughters, Amy Gould of Crescent, Pa., Kateri Terry and her husband, Jake, of Zelienople, Marietta Thomas and her husband, Joe, of Wexford and Maria Rosenbaum of Manning, S.C.; her 20 grandchildren; her five great-grandchildren; her sisters, Bernice Schoedel of Zelienople and Mary Schoedel of Zelienople; and her brothers, Anthony Schoedel and his wife, Kathy, of Zelienople, Michael Schoedel and his companion, Audrey Pearson, of Butler, Richard Schoedel and his wife, Marilyn, of Emlenton, Timothy Schoedel and his wife, Rose, of Reynoldsville, Kevin Schoedel and his wife, Kimberly, of Sharpsville and Christopher Schoedel and his wife, Karen, of Zelienople; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Schoedel; and her sister, Ruth Susan Worst.

ROSENBAUM — Friends of Grace “Gay” Marie Rosenbaum, who died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.She will be laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Marshall Township.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
