Michael D. Halin

Michael D. Halin, 63, of Butler went home to be with our Lord and Savior Monday at his home.

He was born on Feb. 14, 1955, in Braddock, and was a son of the late George Halin Jr., Irene (Bove) Halin Adams and stepfather, John C. Adams.

Michael graduated from Knoch High School in 1973.

Michael was a member of Knoch basketball, golf and track and was voted “most popular” by his classmates.

Michael attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and graduated from Triangle Tech, with a degree in HVAC.

Michael was a retired business owner, woodworker, homemaker, caregiver and family chauffeur.

He was a member of Community Alliance Church in Butler.

He had a strong love for the Lord and an unwavering faith. He was a devoted family man and never missed an opportunity to show how much he treasured and took pride in them.

In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf with his friends and antiquing alongside his wife, but he took the most joy in spending time with those he loved dearly. He was a quiet loving, wise man with a heart of gold and was always there to help others.

Michael is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Yaracs/Steadman) Halin; a brother, George Halin and his wife, Karol; a sister, Sandra Halin Adams and her husband, George Durazzo; a daughter, Bobbie Jo Gibson and her husband, Michael; two sons, Blaise Steadman and his wife, Shiffara, and Nathan Steadman and his wife, Tracy; five grandchildren, Megan Gibson and Zenon, Emma, Kaia and Greyson Steadman; three great-grandchildren, Lovell and Lavonte Gibson, and Lilyana Eichert; three nieces, Lisa Burek and her husband, Matthew, Kara Geibel and her husband, Matthew, and Krista McCaslin and her husband, Craig, and their children, Konner and Kalin Burek, Ethan and Addison Geibel and Kinsley and Kora McCaslin; his mother-in-law, Rita Marzullo Wagner; and his brothers-in-law, Wally Yaracs and his wife, Karen, and Frank Marzullo and his wife, Catherine.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Robert G. Halin.

HALIN — Friends of Michael D. Halin, who died Monday Dec. 3, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, and will be officiated by the Rev. Dennis Krajacic.
