Lorraine A. Carlson

Lorraine A. Carlson, 83, of Butler died Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

She was born Oct. 7, 1934, in Dubois, and was the daughter of the late John and Pauline M. Benny McManigle.

She worked for Goodrich in Dubois and McCrory's Store.

She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, walking and doing puzzles.

Lorraine is survived by her two sons, David Russell Carlson of Columbia, S.C., and Gary Carlson of Butler; two daughters, Lori Ann Carlson Sawford and her husband, Billy, of Gibsonia and Margaret Carlson Rothen and her husband, Neal, of Emlenton; six grandchildren, David Carlson Jr. and his companion, Brad Mitchell, Christopher Carlson, Jennifer Carlson Herold and her husband, Josh, Brian Sawford, Brittany Sawford and Tiffany Carlson; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Rothen, Wyatt Herold and William Herold; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Carlson, whom she married Dec. 19, 1953, and who died June 29, 2000; one brother, John Benny Sr.; one sister, Margaret Krishart; and her stepfather, Bill McManigle.

CARLSON — Friends of Lorraine A. Carlson, who died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev.
