B. Frank Campbell Jr.

B. Frank Campbell Jr., 95, of Zelienople, died Friday at Passavant Retirement Community with his family at his side.

Born Nov. 15, 1922, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Benjamin Frank Campbell Sr. and Margaret May White.

Frank proudly served our country during World War II in North Africa and Italy. Upon his return from the war, he attended Bliss Electrical School in Washington, D.C., and began a career at AT&T, which included an assignment at the Bell Systems pavilion at the 1964 to 1965 New York World's Fair, where he was able to meet Walt Disney.

Frank was an avid golfer and belonged to Keystone Moose Golf Club in Franklin Park, where he made a hole-in-one. He later was a member of Connoquenessing Country Club. He was also a former member of Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople. Frank will be dearly missed.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 61 years, Joan Virginia Friese Campbell, whom he married Sept. 15, 1956; his children, Wayne D. Campbell of Silver Spring, M.D., and Lynne C. (Will) Hilton of Linesville, Pa.; three nieces; and one nephew.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma C. Lawrence; and his nephew, Richard Lawrence.

CAMPBELL — Visitation for B. Frank Campbell Jr., who died Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Allegheny Health Network Hospice, Office of Fund Development, Hospice and Palliative Care, 4818 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
