Loretta Jean (Ravotti) Dentzel

Loretta Jean (Ravotti) Dentzel, 78, of Renfrew formerly of Gilpin Township passed away Wednesday at Butler Health System in Butler.

Born Oct. 25, 1940, in Gilpin Township, she was a daughter of the late Frank A. Ravotti and Emma (Cielo) Ravotti.

Loretta was a 1958 graduate of Leechburg High School and obtained her bachelor's degree in music from Duquesne University in 1962.

She taught music in the Arnold, Leechburg and Kiski Schools, and after she left teaching, gave piano lessons from her home to 500 students over the course of 40 years.

Loretta enjoyed her monthly get-togethers with other members of her 1958 Leechburg High School class, and with her husband Edward, was a member of a local bicycle club, riding bikes on trails all over the area.

She liked working on crafts and was skilled with taking sea shells and creating keepsakes from them.

Loretta loved traveling and was an avid photographer, taking pictures of birds, wildlife, flowers and her beloved family.

Loretta is survived by her husband of 54 years, Edward C. Dentzel; a son, Ed Dentzel of Madeira Beach, Fla.; a brother, Ronald R. (Sylvia) Ravotti of Gilpin Township; a niece, Pamela (John) Sepp of Hollidaysburg, Pa.; and a nephew, Ronald K. (Susan) Ravotti of Gilpin Township.

DENTZEL — Friends of Loretta Jean (Ravotti) Dentzel, who died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, will be received from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial at noon Tuesday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 125 Park Road, Leechburg Gilpin Township, with the Rev.
