Charles Alan Jones
Charles Alan Jones, 59, of Chicora passed away on Monday at 4:20 p.m. at Butler Memorial Hospital after being ill for 15 years.
Born Dec. 15, 1957, in Natrona Heights, he was the son of William P. and Elsie M. Jones.
Charles was raised in Cabot and resided in the Butler area for most of his life.
He was employed at Armco/AK Steel in Butler since 1996 as well as Moonlight Mushroom in Worthington, until its closing in 1993.
Charles enjoyed the outdoors where he loved to garden and fish. He also loved playing guitar and sharing it with others.
He was an active member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church and helped make rosaries for other parishes in Butler because of his strong devotion to the Virgin Mary and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Charles will be missed dearly by everyone whose lives have been touched by his most beautiful spirit.
Charles is survived by his wife, Beverly A. Saper-Jones, of 39 years; and his son, Eric A.M. Jones, who lives at home; his sisters, Elsie M. Martz, Virginia Karadeema and Beverly Bowser; and his brother, Louis F. Jones.
Charles was preceded in death by his father and mother and his three brothers, William P. Jones Jr., Robert L. Jones and George E. Jones.
JONES — Friends of Charles Alan Jones, who died Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.Parastas services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora.
