Mark Douglas McKinney, 63, entered into his eternal heavenly home on Nov. 3 surrounded by his family at Hospice Home at High Point.

Mark was born Sept. 19, 1954, in Butler. He was the son of the late Eugene E. McKinney and Ruth Mabel (King) McKinney.

He was a very loving husband and wonderful dad to his three sons. His grandchildren were the joy of his life.

Mark was a hardworking and quiet man who worked as a tool and die engineer for 40 years.

Having grown up near Pittsburgh, he was an avid Steelers fan and really loved his Pontiac GTO. As an avid car enthusiast, he founded the Butler Area Street Machine Association in 1981.

He moved to High Point in 1994, but never forgot his Pennsylvania roots.

Those who are left to cherish Mark's memory are his beloved wife of 39 years, Patricia Marie (Sloboda) McKinney; three sons, Nathan Douglas McKinney and wife, Amy, of Jamestown, Jason Matthew McKinney and his fiancée, Brie Sisak, of Greensboro, N.C., and Jerrod David McKinney of High Point; three grandchildren, Carlyn Elizabeth McKinney, Emery Cecelia McKinney and Chase John Sisak; and two sisters, Carol A. McKinney and Peggy Brewster, both of Butler.

MCKINNEY — A service to celebrate the life of Mark Douglas McKinney, who died Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, was held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, at Friendly Hills Church, PCA, 1450 Guilford College Road, Jamestown, with Pastor Josh Cushings officiating. Receiving of friends followed the service at the church.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Home at High Point, 1803 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.Cumby Family Funeral Service is handling the arrangements.Condolences may be shared at www.cumbyfuneral.com.
