A state trooper who lives and works in Butler County was recently investigated and disciplined for making threats to a handyman in a voice mail.

John Kline, a resident of Waynesboro, Franklin County, said he filed a police report and a complaint with the state police after an incident in August.

Kline said that he was hired by Trooper Kevin Goss to do some repair work on Goss' rental property in Shippensburg over the summer.

Kline said that Goss was unhappy with the bill because it was $17.44 higher than he has expected.

In a letter dated Nov. 16, Troop D commander Capt. Steve Ignatz informed Kline that the allegations in his complaint were sustained by an internal affairs investigation.

“While the District Attorney has declined criminal prosecution in this case, further administrative action will take place in this matter concerning the involved personnel,” the letter reads, in part.

In an interview Tuesday Ignatz declined to comment on the investigation or the “administrative action,” against Goss, saying that personnel issues are handled internally.

“We take complaints seriously and, as you saw, we respond to complainants and it was handled appropriately,” Ignatz said about the letter.
