Robert J. “Bob” Stockman Sr.

Robert J. “Bob” Stockman Sr., 90, of Mars died Sunday afternoon in the comfort of his home.

Born in Pittsburgh, March 14, 1927, he was the son of the late Henry and Rosalia (Abel) Stockman.

Bob had been a sheet metal worker for the Sheet Metal Workers' Union 12 for 67 years. He was a founding member of the German Shorthair Pointer Club of Pittsburgh.

He was a member of St. Kilian Church in Cranberry Township.

Bob served in the U.S. Navy in the Philippines during World War II, where he had been trained as a frogman.

Bob had also been a farmer and was an avid outdoorsman.

Surviving are a daughter, Lynn (Joseph) Fey of Valencia; three sons, Robert J. (Linda) Stockman II of McCandless Township, John “Jack” Stockman of Mars and James “Jim” Stockman of Emlenton; his grandchildren, Bridget, Megan and Paul; and his great-grandchildren, Rafferty, Maggie and Owen; a brother, John “Jack” (Dee) Stockman of Chippewa; two sisters, Rosalia “Zel” Brown of California, and Mercedes “Cede” (Albert) Kremmel of Pittsburgh; a sister-in-law, Betty Stockman of Minnesota; and his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol (Miller) Stockman, whom he married June 17, 1950, and who died May 14, 2012; two daughters, Patricia Ann and Kathleen “Kathy” Stockman; and a brother, Ralph Stockman.

STOCKMAN — Friends of Robert J. “Bob” Stockman Sr., who died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township with the Rev.
