Paul Raymond Zang
Paul Raymond Zang, 83, of Butler passed away Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born June 12, 1934, in Butler to Earl Zang and Dorothy (McIntyre) Zang.
Mr. Zang was employed by Ervin Industry before retiring in July of 1999.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War with the Atlantic Fleet.
Paul was a member of American Legion Post 117 Butler and Summit Township Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and horse racing.
He is survived by his three sons, Joseph Zang and his wife, Mimi, of Portersville, Timothy Zang and his wife, Carol, of Cabot, and Richard Zang and his wife, Kathie, of Butler; four grandchildren, Melissa Long-Higgs, Nathan Zang, Jonathon Zang and Aaron Zang; four great-grandchildren, Logan Long, Adisyn Zang, Henry Zang and Oliver Zang; three brothers, Floyd Zang of Chicora, Robert Zang of Butler, and Alvin Zang of Herman; three sisters, Dolores Fallecker of Chicora, Linda Benson of Butler, and Judy Hornig of Florida; and his companion, Barb Pickerd of Butler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elma Black Zang, whom he married July 18, 1955, and who passed away June 18, 2000; and three brothers, Earl “Brownie” Zang, David Zang and John Zang.
ZANG — Friends of Paul Raymond Zang, who died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.A committal service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at the Greenlawn Burial Estates, 731 Old Route 422 West, Butler, with the Rev. Robert H. Wilson of Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver officiating.Officers and members of American Legion Post 117 of Butler, American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora and VFW Post 249 of Butler will conduct military honors at the cemetery.Burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
