Robert P. Ivory
Robert P. Ivory, 86, of Butler passed away Friday at his home.
Born April 27, 1931, in Cherry Tree, Pa., he was the son of Ralph Charles Ivory and Gertrude Hazel Ivory.
Bob served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He then attended the Pennsylvania State Police Academy.
He worked as a state trooper from 1956 until 1981, retiring as a detective in the criminal investigation group. After his retirement, he also served with the Saxonburg Police Department.
He was a member of the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association, Fraternal Order of Police, American Legion, East Butler Fire Department, Pennsylvania State Police Pistol Team and The Hiland Golf Course Putting Club.
Bob enjoyed golfing, spending time with his grandchildren, friends and family and singing country music.
Surviving are his children, Robert P. (Mary) Ivory Jr. of Butler, Kim (Ken) Ivory Vail of Gibsonia, John D. (Jenny) Ivory of Gibsonia and Ralph C. (Amanda) Ivory of Wayne, Pa.; his siblings, Wilfred (Grace) Ivory of Twinsburg, Ohio, Donna Mae Ivory of Hollidaysburg, Pa., Jerry (Carol) Ivory of Mundys Corner, Pa., and Ed (Elaine) Ivory of St. Augustine, Pa.; and seven grandchildren, Brianna (Brandon), Jacob, Lauren, Andrew, Emily, Christopher and David.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roy Ivory.
IVORY — Friends of Robert P. Ivory, who died Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Wendelin Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road, Butler, with the Rev.
