Betsy J. Marcellus

Betsy J. Marcellus, 86, of Butler died Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 12, 1931, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Bernice (Ross) Nicholas.

She was a homemaker. She enjoyed bingo and bowling. She was a member of Good Times Bowling League and Cycles Bowling League. Betsy was also a Girl Scout leader.

Surviving are her children, Nancy (David) Rice of Florida, Sallie (Bruce) Miller of Butler, and Brian (Karen) Marcellus of Renfrew; four grandchildren, Amber Jones of Florida, Justin Rice of Fort Campbell, Ky., and Shawn and Braden Marcellus, both of Renfrew; two great-grandchildren, Callie Rose and Wyatt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Marcellus, who died April 20, 2006. They were married Jan. 10, 1953; also her two sons and a sister.

MARCELLUS — Friends of Betsy J. Marcellus, who died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A blessing service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, also at the funeral home, with the Rev. Anthony Sciarappa of the Butler City Catholic Parishes, to officiate.
