Edna Mae (Halowell) Alderson

Edna Mae (Halowell) Alderson, a long time resident of Saxonburg, died at home Wednesday.

She was born April 24, 1936, to Wilbert Russel and Helen (Vensel) Pflugh in Saxonburg. She was one of six children.

She was the devoted wife of James R. Alderson and the beloved mother of three children. She was active in her church community and enjoyed antiquing, decorating, gardening and baking. Above all, she cared deeply for her family and friends and found a way to make others smile.

Edna Mae is survived by her husband, Jim, whom she married May 25, 1991; two sons, John (Maria) Halowell and James Halowell; her son-in-law, Jack Davis; five stepchildren, Kimber (Stan) Jones, Barbara Alderson, Jill (Ernie) Ruzich, James Brent (Jada) Alderson and Heidi (Aaron) Hritz; loving grandmother of Katherine, Elizabeth, Matthew (Libby), Nathan (Jessi), Joshua, Jacob, Taylor, Dustie, Levi and Ashley; her best friend and sister, Carrie (W.C. “Bud”) Butler; her brother, David Pflugh; two sisters-in-law, Eva and Barbara Pflugh; as well as several dear nieces and nephews, all who have richly impacted her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Diane Halowell Davis; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer W.”Bill” Pflugh and his wife, Eleanor, Lewis “Louie” Pflugh, Harry Pflugh and Patricia Gallagher Pflugh.

ALDERSON — Friends of Edna Mae (Halowell) Alderson, who died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, also at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jason McQueen officiating.
