All military veterans are invited to march in the Veterans Day parade Saturday in Butler.

The parade, organized by the Butler County Department of Veterans Services, will start at 10:40 a.m. at the intersection of Penn Street and Main Street and proceed south on Main Street to Diamond Park.

Marchers do not need to sign up and can start lining up on Penn Street at 10 a.m.

Also participating in the parade will be the Butler Golden Tornado Marching band and Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts groups.

The marching band will be performing “America Forever,” which was composed by James Colonna on the night of the bombing of the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, in 1941.

Two of Colonna’s great-grandchildren, Kayla and Hunter, are Butler students and will both be marching in the parade as members of the band.

Main Street will be closed to vehicles from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday to accommodate the parade.
