EVANS CITY — A new council woman will be joining the borough council next year, after winning a seat in Tuesday’s election.

Shelley Natali, a Republican and newcomer to the council, won 293 votes, making her the night’s top vote-getter, according to unofficial results posted online by the county Bureau of Elections.

Incumbents Faye Parenti and John McKinney took second and third with 261 and 204 votes, respectively.

Incumbent Karl Kennedy is off the council, receiving only 193 votes. He said he has no hard feelings after serving on the council for over a decade.

“I’ll be at the meetings through December, and after that I’ll be there as a citizen,” he said, adding that he hopes the contested election will help council members consider their objectives for the borough.
