Rex A. “Pop Pop” Kallner
Rex A. “Pop Pop” Kallner, 66, of Buffalo Township passed away Friday surrounded by family at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Rex was born in Natrona Heights on Nov. 25, 1950, a son of the late Viola (McCoy) and Albert Kallner.
He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot.
He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves for 27 years, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. He then worked as an assistant district manager for Butler County PennDOT for 30 years.
He was the president of the Sarver Veterans Club for 10 years.
Rex enjoyed coaching girls softball and watching the Steelers. He especially loved spending time with his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Denise (Usiadek) Kallner; his two daughters, Kristen (Nathan) Jones of Alexandria, Va., and Megan (Michael) Sproat of Buffalo Township; his three grandsons, Grayson and Griffin Jones, and Rex Sproat; his sister, Connie Rusek of Springdale; and his brother, Raymond Kallner, of Buffalo Township.
KALLNER — Family and friends of Rex A. “Pop Pop” Kallner, who died Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Road, Cabot, with the Rev. Mark Pattock, officiating. Burial will be held at Mt.
