CRANBERRY TWP — Cranberry Township Emergency Medical Service will have its fifth annual Save a Life Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to teach people hands-only CPR.

It takes about five minutes to learn the two-step process to call 911 and start chest compressions on a patient who isn’t breathing and has no pulse, said Andrew Bell, an EMT with Cranberry Township EMS.

People can walk up and get trained for free. Organizers hope to train at least 100 people throughout the day.

If after learning the hands-only technique people want to get certified in CPR, Cranberry Township EMS hosts classes every other month. The next class is Dec. 16. Visit www.ctems51.org.
