Maureen Brett Horstman
Maureen Brett Horstman, 82, of Butler passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday at the VNA Hospice in Butler.
She was born Nov. 24, 1935, in Etna to the late Edward and Catherine Brett.
In life, she worked as a teacher and drug and alcohol counselor, ending her career as a director at Family Services of Western Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh. In retirement, she loved spending time with her family, reading and watching Steeler games.
The family would like to thank the thoughtful and kind-hearted nurses of the VNA Hospice in Butler.
Maureen is survived by her son, James (Dot) Horstman of Lake Worth, Fla., and her daughters, Diane (Robert) McMahon of Fairhope, Pa., Michele (Kevin) Canney of Jupiter, Fla., and Connie (Shaun) Donovan of Butler. She is also survived by her dear friend Kelly Barone, of Pittsburgh.
Maureen is also survived by her six grandchildren, Emily Canney, Joshua Donovan, Jamie Horstman, Michael Canney, Shannon Donovan and Brooke Horstman.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Keenan Brett, and her father, Edward Brett; also her beloved sister, Eileen Brett Henry, and her husband, James Henry.
HORSTMAN — Friends of Maureen Brett Horstman, who died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, will be received from 4:30 until 8 p.m. Friday at Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 2702 Mount Royal Blvd., Glenshaw.A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Church in Etna.
