CLAY TWP — A longtime township supervisor will face a challenger on Election Day.

Dave Beachem, 61, a Democrat, is running for re-election against Republican challenger Donald Wilson.

Beachem, the chairman of the township's three-person board of supervisors, has served for 24 years and is seeking another six-year term. He works for the township's streets department.

During his time on the board, he has worked on a free garbage collection for residents and improvements to the Clay Township Community Park on Euclid School Road.

“I'd like to keep on improving the roads and the infrastructure of Clay Township and we're hoping to keep the park going,” he said.

Wilson, 59, is a lifelong township resident. He works for an excavation company that frequently works in Butler County.

“I believe I can contribute to the township with my experience: 37 years (as an) operator and mechanic on heavy equipment and trucks,” he said.
