Country singer Isaac Cole tunes his guitar Wednesday at his home in Emlenton.

EMLENTON — A local singer has been busy since his time in the national spotlight, and has come out with a new single serving a special purpose.

Isaac Cole, a 17-year-old country singer who competed on last season's American Idol, released “Everyday Livin,” which he co-wrote in March with three other singer-songwriters in Nashville, Tenn., last month.

Cole has pledged that $1 from each purchase of the song to the Hauser Children Fund. The fund helps support Samantha and Dominick Hauser, both students at Karns City Junior-Senior High School, who lost their mother in 2015 and their father in May, both from cancer.

Cole said he doesn't know what it's like to lose a parent, but he lost his grandmother to cancer and sympathizes with the Hausers.

“I don't have millions of dollars to give them,” he said. “The biggest thing I have is my music.”
