MARS — Mars VFW Post 7505 will host a free luncheon and discussion about the future of VFWs at noon, Saturday at Post 7505, 331 Mars-Valencia Road.

The event will include information about the goals and activities of the VFW.

St. Anthony Orthodox Church, 400 S. Sixth Ave., will have a rummage and cookie sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.Proceeds will benefit International Orthodox Christian Charity which is helping hurricane survivors rebuild their lives.

HIS Kids Christian School, 650 Saxonburg Road, will host a Veterans Day Appreciation Program at 2 p.m. Nov. 7 at the school.Children will present songs and readings to thank family members, friends and other veterans for their service.For more information, call the school at 724-352-8177.

Butler High School is accepting nominations for the Distinguished Graduate Award.Senior class officers will begin the selection process for the award during American Education Week Nov. 13-17, and the recipient will be announced during commencement.Forms are available to nominate past graduates who have achieved something outstanding in their chosen professions or have made contributions to the community, state or nation.To obtain a nomination form, visit the high school website at https://www.basdk12.org/shs or any school office.The deadline for nominations is April 1, 2018.

BRADY TWP — The Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road, will offer Fall DiscoverE Tiny Tots, for children ages 3 and 4, from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday and continuing every Tuesday.The series of programs will include games, crafts, hands-on experiences and outdoor adventure to stimulate a child's curiosity of the natural world. CRANBERRY TWP — Openings for the Reality Tour, Butler's monthly parent and child drug prevention education program, are available at 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at the new Cranberry Township Reality Tour in Hope Lutheran Church, 8070 Rowan Road.Parents can attend with children ages 10 to 18.
