Probation given in drug case
A Slippery Rock woman was sentenced to probation in Butler County Court on Thursday, after being charged with possessing drugs while being booked into the county prison in January on an unrelated case.
Michelle L. Dipner, 44, was sentenced to six months of probation, a $100 fine, and ordered to pay court costs and complete 25 hours of community service by Judge Timothy McCune.
Dipner previously pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance after initially being charged with felony possession of contraband by an inmate, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and false identification to law enforcement authorities. Those charges stemmed from an incident during a traffic stop on Route 8 in Center Township on Jan. 1, 2016.
State police filed the charges after the traffic stop, saying Dipner gave troopers a bogus name. After she was identified, police found she was wanted on a warrant.
She was taken to the prison where a search of her purse turned up 53 pills and three packages of Suboxone inside a pill bottle.
