John R. Tarcha

John R. Tarcha, 80, of Butler died Tuesday morning at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Butler.

Born Sept. 21, 1937, in Lyndora, he was a son of the late John Tarcha and Helen (Czap) Tarcha.

John was retired from the melt shop of the Armco Steel Plant, following 38 years.

He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora, the Knights of Columbus 866 and the Meridian Veterans Club. He was an avid golfer and had enjoyed painting, bowling, hunting and fishing.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia A. (Piroch) Tarcha, whom he married Feb. 8, 1964; five children, Brian Tarcha of Brunswick Hills, Ohio, Michelle (Kurt) Huff of East Butler, Sharon (Joseph) Tokarski of Sarver, Erin (Gregory) Griess of Mansfield, Pa., and Rebecca (Kevin) Cramer of Cranberry Township; nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Barbara Allen of Slippery Rock and Sandra (Michael) Fazzino of Butler.

TARCHA — Friends of John R. Tarcha, who died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Friday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora. The Rev. William Wuenschel, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park.The Bereavement Committee of St. Fidelis Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home for a prayer service.For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
