Harold D. “Hal” Foss
Harold D. “Hal” Foss, 84, of Butler passed away Friday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
Born Sept. 2, 1933, in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Elizabeth A. Tumolo Foss.
He worked as a public administrator and an educator. He worked for the Social Security Administration.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1969.
He was a member of the Bantam Marine Detachment, Marine Corps. League, providing for “Toys for Tots.”
Surviving is his partner, Bluma Bluebond of Butler; four children, JoAnn (Joseph) Hurtado and Kathleen (Clyde) Middleton, both of Maryland, Joseph (Shirley) Foss and Stephen (Carolyn) Foss, both of Indiana; five grandchildren, Sandra Jean (Tyler) Moore, Lance Cpl. Joseph Daniel (Kellie) Hurtado, Luther Champ, Jessica Foss and Caleb (Ashley) Foss; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Rock.
FOSS — Family and friends of Harold D. “Hal” Foss, who died Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, are invited to gather from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Inurnment will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
