Hunter Cihonski

Hunter Cihonski, 18, of Winfield Township earned the rank of Eagle Scout on April 26 with Troop 400 of Mars.

He is the son of Jackie and Shawn Cihonski of Winfield Township.

For his Eagle Scout project, Hunter built a play area with a swing set at his church, St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot. He said the church’s preschool program now uses the play area often.

“Previously the church did not have anything for the kids to play on after church or preschool,” he said. “This gave me the idea to build the playground.”

Hunter has earned 44 merit badges over his 11 years of scouting. He is a member of the Order of the Arrow with Brotherhood distinction. Throughout his career, he has served his troop as an assistant patrol leader, patrol leader and troop guide.

Hunter is a senior at Knoch High School and is set to graduate in 2018. After high school, he plans to attend nursing school.
