Michael J. Fedak
Michael J. Fedak, 88, of Valencia, formerly of Wilkins Township, passed away Wednesday at VA Butler Healthcare with his family by his side.
Born in Logan's Ferry, Pa., May 3, 1929, he was the son of the late Michael and Suzanne (Hornack) Fedak.
Michael was an industrial arts teacher for the Pittsburgh Public Schools. He had worked for Mine Safety Appliances, Westinghouse Electric and Union Switch and Signal, before his teaching career.
He was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in Glade Mills. In his youth, he had been an altar server at St. Timothy's Church in Indianola. He was a member of St. John Fisher and St. Kilian Knights of Columbus.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a pilot in the Civil Air Patrol.
Surviving are his wife, Norma T. (Lukas) Fedak, whom he married June 28, 1958; a son, Mark (Karen) Fedak of Ashburn, Va.; a daughter, Marylin (Peter) Rander of Mars; and his grandchildren, Rachel, Monica, Jack and Juliana.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Suzanne Fedak.
FEDAK — Friends of Michael J. Fedak, who died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler, with the Rev. Robert Cedolia, pastor, officiating. Military honors will follow.
