Veto T. DiPento
Veto T. DiPento, 91, of Bradys Bend died Wednesday, at his home.
Born March 13, 1926, in Bradys Bend, he was the son of Rocco and Mary A. (DeFamio) DiPento.
On Oct. 3, 1951, Veto married the former Athenasia Helmi in Vienna.
A career U.S. Army veteran, Veto served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was the recipient of a Combat Infantry Badge with Star, a Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, a German Army Occupation Medal, World War II Victory Medal, a Korean Service Medal, a United Nations Service Medal, a National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Good Conduct Medal-6 Awards, and an additional Purple Heart. He was a member of local American Legions and VFWs.
Veto completed self-training electrician classes and spent his career wiring and rewiring many homes in the East Brady area.
He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Sons of Italy, both in Bradys Bend. He enjoyed growing grapes which he turned into much desired wine, tending his garden, walking his dogs and spending time at the home he built, in Bradys Bend.
Veto was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife, Sula DiPento, of Bradys Bend; one sister- in-law, Margaret DiPento, of East Brady; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Michael, John, Julio and Frank DiPento; and three sisters, Rose Giancanteri, Connie Bishop and Anna McDougall.
DIPENTO — A Mass of Christian burial for Veto T. DiPento, who died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Patrick Church with the Rev.
