SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University senior defensive end Marcus Martin and sophomore place-kicker Jake Chapla have received PSAC West football honors this week.

Martin was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week after recording 11 tackles and three quarterback sacks — including a critical sack in overtime — in Saturday night’s 47-44 overtime win over California (Pa.).

Chapla booted the game-winning 36-yard field goal in that game. He also hit a 43-yarder to end the first half and averaged 39.7 yards on six punts, putting three inside the 20-yard line.
