Lillian A. Brown

Lillian A. Brown, 95, of Butler, formerly of North Washington, passed away Sunday at Mohan's Personal Care in Butler.

She was born May 3, 1922, in Argentine, Pa., the daughter of the late Clair and Amanda Funkhouser Ferguson.

Lillian had worked at Bantam Jeep and Spade Shirt Factory (Bobbi Brooks) in her earlier years. She retired in 1987 after 19 years as a supervisor for the Buildings and Grounds Department of Slippery Rock University. Lillian was a lifelong member of the North Washington United Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Barbara (Herb) Horner of Bruin; four sons, Bruce Brown of Meridian, Barth (Cheryl) Brown of Butler and twins, Brian (Amy) Brown of North Washington and Brent (Marcia) Brown of Bruin; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and her caregivers, Lou Ann Mohan and Jan (Anthony) Shuler, both of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey B. Brown, who died April 17, 1994; her daughter, Joyce McCall, who died Aug. 10, 1990; one sister, Ann Graham; and three brothers, Robert Ferguson, Richard Ferguson and Burton (Chub) Ferguson.

BROWN — Friends of Lillian A. Brown, who died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017, will be received from noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Friday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with her former pastor, the Rev. Bob Mathias, officiating.
