Joseph Swidzinski
Joseph Swidzinski, 99, of Butler passed away at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at VA Butler Healthcare.
He was born March 11, 1918, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Nickolas Swidzinski and Paulina (Schmidt) Swidzinski.
Mr. Swidzinski was a self-employed general contractor. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, and a life member of the VFW Post 249.
Mr. Swidzinski is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Galida and her husband, George, of Fort Collins, Colo., and Janis Caton and her husband, Byron, of Golden, Colo.; four grandchildren, Michael Galida, Erika Caton, Larissa Caton and Travis Caton; four brothers, Adam Swidzinski, Louis Swidzinski, John Swidzinski and Carl Swidzinski, all of Butler; three sisters, Eugenia Schultz of Butler, Lucille Spohn of Maryland and Helen Dolman of Slippery Rock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Elaine Swidzinski, whom he married June 14, 1947, and who passed away Oct. 8, 2013; and three brothers, Stanley, Albert and Frank Swidzinski.
SWIDZINSKI — There will be no public visitation for Joseph Swidzinski, who died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.Burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park.The Bantam Marine Corps League, Detachment 743, will conduct military honors at the cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VA CLC Hospice, 353 N.
