Ruth A. Minzel White

Ruth A. Minzel White, 86, of Cranberry Township, passed away Wednesday while under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born Feb. 23, 1931, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Karl Minzel and Antonie (Wolf) Minzel.

Ruth graduated from Zelienople High School. She was a member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, where she served as a counter for the 4 p.m. Mass for 14 years. She was a member of the 49er's Lunch Bunch and the New Castle Transportation Club.

Ruth was employed at Air Turbine Propeller Company for more than 28 years, retiring Feb. 28, 1997. She served on the board of directors and as a trustee for the employee stock ownership plan. In her free time, Ruth loved to try new recipes, especially cookies. Ruth also loved to play cards and read. She will be remembered for her devotion to sending cards and telling stories to loved ones and friends.

Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Deborah A. Daft, of Cranberry Township, and Patricia M. (Dennis) Marcantonio, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; her sons, David G. (Cheryl) White, of Binghamton, N.Y., and Michael J. (Pamela) White, of Pomona, Calif.; her grandsons, Thomas M. (Jackie) Rivers, of Severn, Md., Timothy D. White, of Keuka Park, N.Y., Antonio M. White, of Los Angeles, Calif., Karl M. White, of Beijing, China, and Michelangelo D. White, of Costa Mesa, Calif.; her granddaughters, Jennifer L. (Michael) White Cushner, of Syracuse, N.Y., and Ewa M. White, of Pomona, Calif.; her great-granddaughter, Kourtney M. Rivers of Severn, Md..; and her sister, Gloria M. Ferris, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her great-granddaughter, Caele Ann Rivers; and her son-in-law, Edward D. Daft.

Her family would like to express their appreciation for the care Ruth received at the Grove at Harmony, UPMC Passavant Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospice, in Wexford.

WHITE — Friends of Ruth A. Minzel White, who died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m., Friday, at Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, with the Rev. Father Thomas J. Burke, officiating.Ruth will be laid to rest at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in Zelienople.Ruth's family suggests donations be made to St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, or to the Cranberry Township Ambulance Service, 20727 US-19, Cranberry Township, Pa., 16066.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
