MCKEESPORT — At least nine coal cars have derailed in a Pittsburgh suburb, downing some live electrical wires.
CSX spokesman Rob Doolittle said the train was traveling from Grafton, W.Va., to Monaca, Pa., when an unspecified number of coal cars derailed Wednesday in McKeesport.
Doolittle and Allegheny County emergency management officials said there were no immediate reports of injuries. The train consisted of two locomotive engines pulling 126 freight cars, all filled with coal. Video showed at least nine cars obviously derailed in a zig-zag pattern, and at least one had toppled over.
Doolittle says the cause of the derailment will be investigated as crews work to remove the cars and clean up the spilled coal.

PITTSBURGH — An Allegheny County judge told 36-year-old Pittsburgh resident Janelle Delarosa, who was convicted of animal cruelty, that she can’t possess or be in control of any animals for the next 20 years, in addition to fines and restitution.
She was in court to appeal her conviction on summary charges that included eight counts of animal cruelty.
The charges stem from a complaint in October 2013 that Delarosa wasn’t treating an adult dog and seven puppies properly at her home in Homewood. The dogs required extensive veterinary treatment.
